Doctors are working to determine if so and how often.\u00a0\u201cThe current evidence is insufficient\u201d to support such screening, according to the recommendations from the US Preventive Services Task Force,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/fullarticle\/2730620?guestAccessKey=a1a150f4-44c9-4fba-bcc2-29e0d20c64a8&amp;utm_source=For_The_Media&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=ftm_links&amp;utm_content=tfl&amp;utm_term=041619\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published in the medical journal JAMA<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday.\u00a0The task force is an independent group of national experts in medicine who make recommendations that affect clinical practice.<\/p>\n<div class=\"zn-body__paragraph\">In 2006, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org\/Page\/Document\/RecommendationStatementFinal\/lead-levels-in-childhood-and-pregnancy-screening\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">task force recommended<\/a>\u00a0against\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pediatrics.aappublications.org\/content\/118\/6\/2514.short\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">routine screening for elevated blood lead levels<\/a>\u00a0in pregnant women who are not showing symptoms of elevated lead levels, such as developmental delay in newborns and high blood pressure in adults, and children ages 1 to 5 who are not showing and at average risk. During my last visit, the consultant noticed an area between my shoulder blades was highlighted green and she suggested that it may have something to do with gallbladder congestion.
