The experts have examined the\u00a0genetically engineered nematode roundworms called\u00a0C.\u00a0elegans in order to carry out the study. The roundworms are known to carry a specific gene that makes them glow bright under ultraviolet light once it is activated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/11\/13\/health\/bill-gates-announcement-alzheimers\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Bill Gates\u2019 newest mission: Curing Alzheimer\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> For Gates, the fight is personal. He is investing $50 million of his own money into the <a href=\"http:\/\/theddfund.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dementia Discovery Fund<\/a>, a private-public research partnership focused on some of the more novel ideas about what drives the brain disease, such as looking at a brain cell\u2019s immune system. It\u2019s the first time Gates has made a commitment to a noncommunicable disease. The work done through his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatesfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">foundation<\/a>\u00a0has focused primarily on infectious diseases such as HIV, malaria and polio.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturalnews.com\/2017-11-13-gestational-diabetes-increases-risk-of-cardiovascular-disease-however-scientists-also-determined-a-healthy-lifestyle-helps-mitigate-that-risk.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Gestational diabetes increases risk of cardiovascular disease; however, scientists also\u00a0determined a healthy lifestyle helps mitigate that risk<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0A new study finds that gestational diabetes increases risk of cardiovascular disease in women, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2017\/10\/171016122156.htm\">reported by <i>The Science Daily<\/i><\/a><i>. <\/i>In addition, researchers discover that having a healthy lifestyle helps lower cardiovascular risk.\u00a0Researchers from the <i>National Institute of Health<\/i> (NIH) analyzed the association between cardiovascular disease and gestational diabetes. They evaluated the medical history of about 90,000 pregnant women. Among these women, approximately 5,300 of them had a history of gestational diabetes. The data came from the <em>Nurses\u2019 Health Study II<\/em>, an ongoing study that started in 1989.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.mit.edu\/2017\/one-vaccine-injection-could-carry-many-doses-0914\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>One vaccine injection could carry many doses<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0MIT engineers have invented a new 3-D fabrication method that can generate a novel type of drug-carrying particle that could allow multiple doses of a drug or vaccine to be delivered over an extended time period with just one injection.\u00a0The new microparticles resemble tiny coffee cups that can be filled with a drug or vaccine and then sealed with a lid.
