Brown declared a state of emergency Friday because of a<a id=\"HEDAI00000272\" title=\"Hepatitis\" href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/topic\/health\/diseases-illnesses\/hepatitis-HEDAI00000272-topic.html\">hepatitis<\/a> A outbreak that has killed at least 18 people in the state.\u00a0The <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-46234 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.robertscottbell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/dc664a66-65b8-4f4c-bae2-36b512618de6-large16x9_1280x960_70912C00XFPGP-300x169.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.robertscottbell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/dc664a66-65b8-4f4c-bae2-36b512618de6-large16x9_1280x960_70912C00XFPGP-300x169.png 300w, http:\/\/www.robertscottbell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/dc664a66-65b8-4f4c-bae2-36b512618de6-large16x9_1280x960_70912C00XFPGP-768x432.png 768w, http:\/\/www.robertscottbell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/dc664a66-65b8-4f4c-bae2-36b512618de6-large16x9_1280x960_70912C00XFPGP.png 986w\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/>declaration allows state health officials to buy additional doses of the hepatitis A vaccine to try to halt the outbreak, which is already the nation\u2019s second largest in more than two decades.\u00a0\u201cWe have the capacity to use as much vaccine as we can get our hands on,\u201d said Dr. Gil Chavez, state epidemiologist with the California Department of Public Health.\u00a0The outbreak began in San Diego\u2019s homeless community late last year, but has since spread outside the region. Los Angeles and Santa Cruz counties are also now experiencing outbreaks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalnewstoday.com\/articles\/319713.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Axillary lymph nodes and breast cancer: All you need to know<\/a><\/strong> The lymphatic system is one of<br \/>\nthe body\u2019s chief infection fighters. This system contains lymph, which is a type of fluid, and lymph nodes, which are positioned in key areas in the body.\u00a0Lymph nodes are responsible for filtering lymph fluid and detecting chemical changes that signal if an infection is present. Cancer cells can also get into the lymphatic system and get lodged in lymph nodes. When they are in the armpit, these filter points are called axillary lymph nodes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalnewstoday.com\/articles\/319763.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Could micronutrient supplements combat ADHD?\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>Over recent years, interest has developed around diet and its influence on ADHD. For instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/20631199\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a study<\/a> looking at the diets of adolescents concluded that \u201c[a] Western-style diet may be associated with ADHD.\u201d\u00a0Similarly, the authors of a study looking at the potential benefits of the <a href=\"http:\/\/pediatrics.aappublications.org\/content\/early\/2017\/01\/26\/peds.2016-2027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mediterranean diet on ADHD<\/a> wrote,\u00a0\u201cOur data support the notion that not only specific nutrients but also the whole diet should be considered in ADHD.\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Another research team\u00a0\u2014 who investigated the relationship between <a class=\"keywords\" title=\"Vitamins: What are they and what do they do?\" href=\"https:\/\/www.medicalnewstoday.com\/articles\/195878.php\">vitamins<\/a> and ADHD in young adults \u2014 found that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5153567\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lower concentrations<\/a> of B-2, B-6, and B-9 were associated with ADHD, and B-2 and B-6 were linked to the severity of the symptoms.\u00a0In general, studies into the\u00a0relationship between micronutrients and ADHD have concentrated on manipulating one specific nutrient at a time. However, in many parts of the world, including North America, nutrient deficiencies are extremely common and are often responsible for many of the symptoms and diseases people are facing today.\u00a0So how do these deficiencies occur in a world that has plenty of food to go around? Turns out, there are a lot of intertwining factors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/fortune.com\/2017\/10\/16\/cancer-sugar-link-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>How Cancer and Sugar Are Linked: Study<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Cancer cells are nasty little anarchists. They go where they shouldn\u2019t, subvert authority, co-opt law-abiding cells around them, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cell.com\/cell\/fulltext\/S0092-8674(11)00127-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">break a ton of biological rules<\/a> in their mindless quest for destruction.\u00a0They\u2019re also weird.
