Those drugs that Kristofferson was treated with had been approved by the FDA on the basis of a couple of short-term trials involving only a few hundred so-called \u201cAlzheimer\u2019s Dementia\u201d patients. The results that were submitted to the FDA showed only minimal improvement (albeit \u201cstatistically significant\u201d), but only in mild to moderate dementia. Thus treating severely demented patients with those drugs was not FDA-approved (\u201coff-label\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"story-body__introduction\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/health-36924361\"><strong>Argentina is one of the world\u2019s largest exporters of genetically-modified soya.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0It\u2019s big business, but some local residents fear herbicides used by the industry could be making them sick.\u00a0Horacio Brignone lives in the village of Mar\u00eda Juana in the Argentine flatlands, or pampas.
